Event Details: We are honoured and delighted to invite you to our Memsahib’s Monthly Biryani Supper Club. This is your opportunity to devour a Bangladeshi feast, delight in our delicious drinks and meet our wonderful chefs, hearing about our culinary heritage first-hand. Originally from Persia, and introduced to the Indian Subcontinent by Mughal rulers, Biryani is a delight to eat and a challenge for chefs to prepare. In a perfect pot of Biryani, every grain of rice is separate, yet infused with aromas of various spices and has meat or vegetables paired with it. It is the ultimate dish to share with friends and family during a celebration!

We are honoured and delighted to invite you to our Memsahib’s Monthly Biryani Supper Club. This is your opportunity to devour a Bangladeshi feast, delight in our delicious drinks and meet our wonderful chefs, hearing about our culinary heritage first-hand.

Originally from Persia, and introduced to the Indian Subcontinent by Mughal rulers, Biryani is a delight to eat and a challenge for chefs to prepare. In a perfect pot of biryani, every grain of rice is separate, yet infused with aromas of various spices and has meat or vegetables paired with it. It is the ultimate dish to share with friends and family during a celebration! 

Upon arrival, you will be greeted by my partner Rina Saha, and offered a house-crafted seasonal welcome drink as well as papadum chaat as an amuse bouche. You’ll be welcome to relax in the lounge until dinner, which will be served at 7 pm. Your first course will be Mutton leg Nihari, a popular stew from the Indian Subcontinent with roots in the Mughlai cuisine of Old Delhi and Awadh. This is a great highlight of authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, celebrating the nose-to-tail eating philosophy. A selection of small bites will also be served as a starter for the table to share.  

The star of the feast and our supper club is Memsahib’s Dum Biryani, either prepared with your choice of lamb, paneer or sea bass. The most important step in the Dum Biryani and that which gives the Biryani its unique flavour and aroma is the ‘dum’. This is the art of sealing the lid of the Biryani which helps create steam that gets evenly distributed throughout and infuses flavour into the rice. The Dum Biryani will take centre stage on your table and you will be invited to dig in and eat as much as you like! For the final course, we will serve you Gulab Jamun Cheesecake with Pistachio Kulfi.

Our monthly supper clubs will take place on the last Thursday of the month and will feature new dishes each time, with menus being published on our social media and website.
